Bale Choppers

INTRODUCTION

Kubota bale choppers are rugged, dependable and versatile machines designed for daily operation without compromise. Set to low speed, the flywheel ensures a metered flow of silage or hay for feeding. Set at high speed, these choppers have the power to blow straw bedding with up to 65' (20m) away with accuracy. The height and angle of the discharge chute is controlled hydraulically, offering simple adjustment from bedding to feeding positions.

Features

In-cab control box
The control box is an easy to learn terminal with focus on functionality and simplicity, providing full control of all functions from the tractor cab. Speed and direction of conveyor, open and close function of the tailgate, joystick steering of the chute and adjustment of the Drum Feed Control System position.
Drum designed to handle a variety of materials
The shredding drum is fitted with 14 knives standard on the BC1200 and BC1300 PRO, but will accept a total of 42 knives according to material type. A unique angled knive design, passing the ‘comb’ on alternate sides provides even feed to the flywheel, reduces blockages and helps decrease cleanout needs.
Large flywheel for maximum performance
The 5’1” (1.55m) diameter flywheel on the Kubota BC series is fitted with 6 blowing paddles, providing powerful and efficient distribution of the material and excellent cleaning of the flywheel housing. In combination with the 2-speed gearbox, the flywheel can throw straw up to 65’ (20m) away depending on bedding material and conditions.
260 degree 4-stage swivel chute
The 4-stage swivel chute offers joystick comfort control and is a cost saving solution reducing waste. Depending on the material and conditions of the barn it can blow bedding up to 65’ (20m). The 4-stage movement also optimises feeding performance in flat or high troughs, without blockage.
Tailgate and floor chain remote control
Both the tailgate and floor conveyor can be operated at a safe distance from moving parts using the side-mounted remote control. There is no need to enter the tractor to use the side-control terminal. (PRO models only)
Heavy-duty Floor conveyor
Floor conveyors are a hydraulically driven chain and slat design with variable speed and reversing ability. The ratio between floor conveyor and shredding drum speed is carefully designed to ensure smooth material flow. The floor conveyor runs on two wear strips made of special ‘UltraGlide’ material to reduce friction and increase chain life. (Option on BC1200)
Self-loading tailgate
The tailgates are built strong for self-loading and carrying bales. From the tractor cab, the operator can use the hydraulic tailgate to load square or round bales.
Extra bale retainer
The optional bale retainer bar offers the ability to carry an extra round bale on the tailgate. The bar can be quickly installed or removed if switching between manual loading and self-loading.
Dual shredding drum
Build for high capacity, the BC1600 PRO is equipped with dual shredding drums and the same unique angled knife design to providing even feed to the flywheel, reducing blockages and helping to decrease cleanout needs. The drums come with 28 knives but can be fit with up to 84 depending on material type.
2-Speed gearbox
Easily shift from bedding speed to feeding speed with the switchable 2-speed gearbox. The single lever switch is located on the front left corner of the bale chopper for easy access when switching chores.
Side chute accuracy
The side chute is suitable for both bedding and feeding purposes. Feed can be positioned over barriers, into troughs or onto the floor. The height of the discharge chute is controlled hydraulically, offering simple adjustment from bedding to feeding positions.
Main chute high-speed setting
The main chute can blow straw up to 65' (20m) away making quick work when replacing bedding or covering damp areas. For bedding purposes the chute is moved up and down using the control box joystick mounted in the tractor cab.
